Author Visit: Dr. Mullen

Reading literacy rates are getting worse not better. Twenty-five percent of Americans didn’t read one book in 2007. According to the NEA, reading as a pastime will virtually disappear in 50 years if we don’t do something now to stop this alarming trend. And yet school libraries are being dismantled and reading coaches placed in other teaching roles. As a former reading teacher, I have created a fictional book that will help you and your students succeed in reading and in life.

Topics to discuss (Grades 9-12 Preparing for college):

Don’t simply         repeat your opening statement with a canned ending. Test reviewers key on only writing elements not so         much your style. Writers Inc is your best guide on writing essays.
